SpecStream for Msty StudioAI assistants

What you need

  • Msty Studio, and a model that supports tool calls.
  • A SpecStream account. New accounts get $10 of work on sign-up, no card. Create one.

  1. 1. Open Tools

    In Msty Studio, open the Toolbox and go to Tools.

  2. 2. Add SpecStream

    Select Add New Tool, then HTTP. Enter https://api.specstream.ai/mcp as the MCP Server URL. SpecStream is a remote server that uses Streamable HTTP, which Msty Studio requires for remote tools. Enter SpecStream as the Name and select Add.

  3. 3. Sign in to SpecStream

    Msty Studio supports OAuth for remote tools. When it asks you to authorize SpecStream, sign in or create an account, and approve the access. Requests run on the account that signed in, with its balance and spending limits.

  4. 4. Ask for data

    Use the SpecStream tool in a chat, then describe the records you want and the details to bring back on each one:

What happens when you ask

SpecStream reads the request back, then quotes the most it can cost. Nothing runs until you approve that price. Rows arrive with the source URL and read time on every value.

Or connect with an API key

In SpecStream, open Agents & API, choose API keys, then Create API key, and set a total spending limit. In the tool's form, add a header named Authorization with the value Bearer <your SpecStream API key> under Headers.

Msty Studio Web

Toolbox features in Msty Studio Web work once Studio Web is connected to Studio Desktop through Remote Connections or Sidecar. Add the tool in Studio Desktop.

Cost

Connecting SpecStream to Msty Studio is free. Reading a request and pricing it cost nothing. Each matching row costs 5¢, 15¢ or $1, depending on how much the row needs, plus 5¢ for a person's email and 15¢ for a phone. A quote lasts 30 minutes, a run can't cost more than the maximum you approved, and a run that finds nothing costs nothing. Balance, quotes, and billing has the details.

Disconnect

Delete the SpecStream tool in the Toolbox. To end its access on the SpecStream side, open Agents & API in your workspace, choose OAuth applications, and revoke Msty, or revoke the key under API keys. Your saved results stay in your workspace. Questions go to [email protected].
