Intercom
Look up the company or person behind a conversation on the live web from the Intercom inbox: size, industry, headquarters, latest funding, job title, LinkedIn profile. Every value comes with the page it was read on, and one click adds the results to the conversation as a note.
Intercom is still reviewing the app for its App Store. In the meantime, Install for Intercom below starts the install from SpecStream.
Install
- Click Install for Intercom above, or install SpecStream from the Intercom App Store Coming soon.
- Intercom asks you to authorize SpecStream for your workspace. Click Authorize access.
- Sign in to SpecStream, or create an account, and approve the connection. Starting is free: new accounts get $10 of work, no card.
The workspace is linked to the SpecStream account that installed it. Every teammate's lookups are paid from that account's balance. If you cancel either step, nothing is connected.
Add it to the inbox
Open a conversation, click Edit apps at the bottom of the details panel on the right, and pin SpecStream. Each teammate can add it to their own view.
Look up a company or a person
SpecStream takes the company from the contact's company in Intercom, or from their email domain, and writes the request for you. To ask about the person instead, click Look up and their first name: SpecStream asks for their job title, LinkedIn profile, location and work email. You can change the request to ask for anything else, for example:

When the contact writes from a personal address such as Gmail, there's no company to start from, so write the company you want. Click Get the price.
Approve the price
The app shows how SpecStream read the request and the most it can cost. Click Find for at most the price to start, or Change the request. Nothing runs before you approve, and if the price changed in the meantime, the app asks you to get the new one.
Results take a few minutes. Click Check for results to see if they're ready, or Open in SpecStream to follow the list in your workspace.
Read the results
The app shows the record's values and, under Sources, the pages they were read on. Click a source to open it. Add as a note posts the values and their sources to the conversation as an internal note, visible only to teammates.
Permissions and data
SpecStream asks Intercom to read the contact's company and to write conversations, so it can add notes. It reads the contact and company in the conversation you open, and writes only the notes you add. It doesn't read the conversation's messages.
The Intercom token and the link to your SpecStream account are stored encrypted on SpecStream's servers and never sent to your browser. SpecStream accepts only requests signed by Intercom. See the privacy policy and security.
How SpecStream uses AI
SpecStream uses AI models to read your request and the pages it collects, so results can be wrong. Every value carries the page it came from, so you can open the source before you rely on it. The AI services SpecStream uses don't keep what they read and may not train their models on it.
Cost
The app is free. Lookups are paid from your SpecStream balance, only for the results that match, and a lookup that finds nothing is free. The default company profile is 30¢. See pricing and balance, quotes and billing.
Uninstall
In Intercom, open Settings > Apps > App Store, find SpecStream and uninstall it. SpecStream ends its access to your SpecStream account and deletes the stored Intercom token.
