Until the listing is live, add https://api.specstream.ai/mcp to Kilo Code as a remote MCP server and sign in to SpecStream, or authenticate with an API key in an Authorization: Bearer header.

What you need

  • A SpecStream account. No card is needed to start, and $10 of work is included for 30 days.
  • Kilo Code.

  1. 1. Find SpecStream in the marketplace

    Open the marketplace in Kilo Code and search for SpecStream.

    The listing adds the hosted server at https://api.specstream.ai/mcp together with SpecStream's skills.

  2. 2. Install it and sign in

    Install SpecStream, then finish the sign-in that opens in your browser. Approve the access Kilo Code asks for.

  3. 3. Ask the agent

    Say what you want and which details to return. For example:

    Find vulnerabilities published this week in Python packages rated high or critical, with the affected versions and the advisory.

The skills

Each skill takes over one stage of a request.

  • specstream-compile restates your request, including the details it will bring back and the quantity, before any work starts.
  • specstream-review-work asks for the price and reports it with its expiry.
  • specstream-approve-work starts the paid work once you've approved that price.
  • specstream-continue-work reads the rows page by page, then exports or sends them, and handles requests for more rows, refreshes, and monitors.

Approvals

Kilo Code can read and price a request on its own. Starting paid work needs your approval of an exact maximum. If the price expires or changes before you approve it, the skill asks for a fresh approval instead of reusing the old one. If your balance can't cover the work, the skill has the agent say what is missing and keep the request. Adding balance happens in your SpecStream account, not in the chat.

What arrives

Rows come in while the run works. Each carries its values, the page they were read from, and when. A run you stop keeps what it found. Download results as CSV, Excel, JSON, or HTML, or send them to Salesforce, HubSpot, Airtable, Notion, Excel, or Google Sheets from a connection you've set up under Connections. Choosing Outlook writes drafts into your own Drafts folder, and SpecStream sends nothing from your mailbox.

Cost and access

New accounts start with $10 of work to spend within 30 days. After that you top up in your SpecStream account. A price lasts 30 minutes, results start at 10 cents a match, and a search that comes up empty is free. See pricing.

Kilo Code acts with your balance and permissions. To limit it, connect with an API key. Make one with Create API key in the API keys section of Agents & API. Choose read, prepare, or execute access, the projects it may use, an expiry, and a spending limit. Only execute access can start paid work.

Disconnect

Revoke it from Settings in SpecStream. If it uses a key, revoke that key in Agents & API. Saved results stay in your workspace. Reach us at [email protected]. More tools are covered in Connect your tools.
