Sigma

Add SpecStream to Sigma as an MCP connector. Sigma agents ask for live web data in plain words, show the most a request can cost, and bring back the records.

SpecStream for SigmaData & warehouses

What you need

  • A Sigma Admin account, or an account type with the Manage MCP connectors permission.
  • For whoever builds the agent: an account type with Use MCP connectors, Manage agents, and Create, edit, and publish workbooks, Can use access to the connector, and Can edit access to the workbook.
  • A SpecStream account. New accounts get $10 of work free, with no card.
  1. 1. Add the connector

Go to Administration, then MCP connectors, and click Add MCP connector.

Enter SpecStream as the Name. In Description, say what the connector does, because agents read it to decide when the tool applies. Enter https://api.specstream.ai/mcp as the MCP server URL. Sigma validates the URL on its own.

In Instructions, you can tell the agent which tools to use or how to format answers, for example to show the source URL beside each value.

    Description
Finds companies, local businesses, grants, tenders, clinical trials, papers and datasets on the live web. Every value comes back with its source URL and read time.
  2. 2. Authorize and save

Under Authentication credential, choose OAuth with Dynamic Client Registration and click Authorize. Sigma adds an OAuth API credential for you. Click Test if you want to check the definition and the authentication and review the available tools, then click Save.

  3. 3. Grant access

Open the connector and, in Connector access, click Grant access. Search for users or teams and choose Can use to let them add the connector to an agent, or Can edit to let them manage it. Add All members of your Sigma organization to give everyone use access. Add a message for the email notification, or clear the checkbox to skip the email, then click Save.

People find the connectors available to them under Profile, then Integrations, then Available MCP connectors.

  4. 4. Add it to an agent

When you create or edit an agent, click + next to Tools and select MCP connector. Search for SpecStream and select it. Add instructions that tell the agent when to use it, then click Save to go back to editing the workbook.

  5. 5. Ask the agent

Describe what you need and where:

SaaS companies in London that use HubSpot, with their website

SpecStream reads the request back so you can see how it understood it, then gives the most the request can cost. Approve that amount and the run starts. The results come back with the source URL and read time of each value.

Who can use it

Sigma agents can only use tools the person chatting has access to, so Can use access to the connector decides who reaches SpecStream.

An API key instead of OAuth

For a credential Sigma doesn't create for you, go to Administration, then API connectors, open the Credentials tab, and click Create credential. This takes the Manage API connectors permission. Enter a name and api.specstream.ai as the authorized domain, choose Bearer token, enter a SpecStream API key as the Token, and click Save. Then choose it under Authentication credential on the connector. Create the key in your workspace under Agents & API and give it only the projects, operations and spending limit the task needs.

If the sign in runs out

If a person's OAuth token for SpecStream expires during a chat, Sigma asks them to authorize again.

Cost

Connecting SpecStream to Sigma costs nothing on SpecStream's side. SpecStream bills your balance for the records that match a request, never above the maximum you approved, and a request that finds nothing is free. Balance, quotes, and billing has the rates.

More

SpecStream for Sigma covers what it does in Sigma on one page. Every other tool has its guide in Connect your tools. You see the most a request can cost before it starts, and the matches are paid from your balance. Billing has the details. For help, email [email protected].
