SpecStream for JetBrains
SpecStream is the live web data engine for teams and agents. AI Assistant and Junie ask SpecStream for live web data from inside your JetBrains IDE and get structured records back. Both take the same mcpServers JSON, and the price shows before anything runs.
What you get
- PDF libraries with their licenses
- Ask Junie for Java libraries that generate PDFs, with each one's license, latest release, and Maven coordinates. Each library comes back as one record.
- Every project, or one
- Junie saves a server added in settings to ~/.junie/mcp/mcp.json for every project. A .junie/mcp/mcp.json at a project root adds it to that project alone.
- A local proxy when you need one
- Run pip install specstream-mcp-stdio and point either client at the specstream-mcp-stdio command, with your key in SPECSTREAM_API_KEY.
Where it works
Set it up
- In AI Assistant, open Settings, then Tools, then AI Assistant, then Model Context Protocol (MCP), and add the SpecStream server JSON.
- In Junie, open Settings, then Tools, then Junie, then MCP Settings, and add the server to mcp.json with your API key as a header.
- Ask AI Assistant or Junie for the data. The price comes back before any paid work starts.
