# Terms of use

These terms cover your account, the information you bring, and the research you authorize.

## Who you’re working with

These terms are between you and SpecStream SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée). The legal notice names its officers and its registration number. Contact support@specstream.ai about this agreement, your account, or a purchase. If you use SpecStream for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for it, and “you” means that organization.

By using SpecStream, you agree to these terms. A separately agreed written contract takes precedence where it expressly changes them. A signed quote governs the scope, completion rule, and maximum charge of the work it covers. Where SpecStream processes personal data on your behalf, the data processing agreement also applies.

## Your account and authority

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract to create an account. SpecStream is not directed at children.

Give accurate account information and keep sign-in links, sessions, API keys, and integration credentials secure. Do not share access you are not entitled to grant. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

You are responsible for the instructions you authorize and the permissions you grant to project members, connected tools, and agents. You can revoke access and cancel recurring authority. Revocation does not undo work already completed under valid authorization.

## What SpecStream does

SpecStream lets you describe what to find, check records against requirements, inspect facts and sources, and work with saved requests, lists, maps, projects, and programmable interfaces. You can also import your own information without buying research.

Saving a request keeps its instructions and revisions. It does not start research or include result data in a shared request. Executing work, granting access to results, and sending records to another service require their own authorization.

Web sources can be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or out of date. A match describes what the sources showed at the time they were read. It is not a guarantee about future events, a person’s suitability, or a third party’s conduct. Review the evidence before relying on a result.

## Use it lawfully

Use SpecStream only for lawful purposes and within the permissions you hold. Do not use it for harassment, stalking, discrimination, fraud, unlawful surveillance, credential theft, or unauthorized access. Do not seek private information by bypassing access controls or use the service to make unlawful decisions about people.

Do not interfere with the service, evade spending or access limits, abuse free grants, or submit malicious material. Respect intellectual property, privacy, data protection, and marketing laws when importing, exporting, sharing, or contacting people. A public contact detail is not consent to receive marketing.

Do not use SpecStream to infer or compile information about a person’s health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, sex life or sexual orientation, criminal record, or precise location, unless the law expressly allows it and you have a lawful basis for it.

## Not for credit, hiring, or housing decisions

SpecStream is not a consumer reporting agency, and its results are not consumer reports under the US Fair Credit Reporting Act or similar laws. Do not use SpecStream or any result as a factor in deciding a person’s eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing, tenancy, education, government benefits, or any other purpose those laws cover, and do not use it to screen tenants or employees.

Finding people to contact about an opportunity is allowed. Deciding about them from SpecStream results is not.

## Contacting people you find

For personal data in results, you are the controller: you decide what SpecStream looks for and how the results are used, and SpecStream processes them for you under the data processing agreement. You need your own lawful basis; you must tell people where you got their details when the law requires it (in the European Union, within one month and at the latest when you first contact them); you must honor their objections and opt-outs; you must follow the e-marketing, telemarketing, and anti-spam laws for the messages you send; and you must not use results to infer anyone’s health, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation, trade union membership, or ethnic origin.

## Your content and results

You retain your rights in information, requests, and other material you submit. You give SpecStream the permission needed to host, process, display, and transmit that material to provide the service and follow your instructions. You must have the rights and lawful basis needed for that processing.

You may use and export the results available to your account, subject to applicable law and any rights in the underlying sources. SpecStream does not transfer ownership of third-party information or promise exclusive results. The SpecStream software, brand, and artwork remain the property of their respective owners.

## Projects, links, and connected tools

Project roles, shared links, and connected destinations determine who can see or act on your work. Review the selected information, contact visibility, role, and spending authority before granting access. A shared request does not, by itself, give its recipient private results or permission to spend.

When you send information to another service, that service’s terms and privacy practices also apply. Revoking access stops future authorized access through SpecStream; it cannot erase copies already exported or received elsewhere. You remain responsible for configuring those destinations appropriately.

## Quotes and charges

New paid work requires an approved quote for the specific request revision and operation, unless it falls within a standing authorization you have explicitly granted. We reserve the approved maximum and charge only for completed, saved output that meets the quote’s completion rule. We release the unused reservation. Charges never exceed the approved maximum.

Each completed match is charged at the price shown in the quote before each run, in the currency you see. The rate depends on the depth of work the request needs (Standard, Expanded or Deep) and is listed on the pricing page. A person’s email address or phone number delivered with a result, a company checked and left out for lacking a detail you marked as needed, a checked row of a list you imported, and rechecking results you already kept are charged at the rates the quote shows. Possible matches that could not be confirmed, and replaying a saved decision against its saved evidence, cost nothing. If the agreed useful minimum is not reached, nothing is charged. Accepted partial output follows the signed quote. Amounts stated in these terms are in euros; an account that pays in US dollars pays the same numbers in dollars. An account pays in the currency of its first payment. Applicable tax is disclosed before payment. Historical signed quotes and purchases keep their original terms.

Importing your own lists, placing their addresses on the map, mapping existing coordinates, comparing, exporting and sharing them cost nothing.

## Free and purchased balance

Free accounts receive €10 of work balance once per eligible verified billing account, usable for 30 days from sign-up. There is no monthly free balance. Free balance expires after those 30 days and is not added on top of an active paid plan. No card is required for Free.

Manual top-ups start at €10, in steps of one euro. Purchased balance does not expire. Balance pays for SpecStream work; it is not a bank deposit or transferable currency. Adding balance does not authorize research. We do not automatically top up your account or create overage debt.

## Referrals

When a person signs up through your referral link within 30 days of following it and makes their first monthly plan payment, you and that person each receive work balance equal to 20% of that first payment, once per referred account. Referral balance expires 90 days after it is issued and pays only for SpecStream work.

If the qualifying payment is refunded, any unspent referral balance from it is withdrawn. Referring your own account, including one paid for with the same card, does not qualify.

## Monthly plans and cancellation

Pro costs €19 per month and includes €19 of work for one member. Scale costs €99 per month and includes €99 of work and up to 10 members. Team costs €499 per month and includes €499 of work and up to 50 members. Enterprise starts at €2,500 per month on terms agreed in writing. You can have one paid monthly plan per account; there is no per-seat price. Every account, including Free, can find and enrich lists, use the map and its route planner, export, send any list to any connected tool as often as they like, keep a sheet, table or CRM in sync, use schedules and their alerts, webhooks and automation triggers, use SpecStream in Slack and Teams, and use the API, MCP and the apps. Plans differ in the number of lists kept up to date at once (active schedules): 1 on Free and pay as you go, 10 on Pro, 50 on Scale, 250 on Team and no limit on Enterprise. When a plan ends, the oldest active schedules keep running up to the new limit and the others are skipped, without charge, until there is room. Single sign-on, SCIM and audit log export require Enterprise. Each issued monthly balance lasts through its original billing cycle and one additional cycle.

Plans renew monthly until canceled. An upgrade takes effect immediately: you are charged the price difference for the rest of the current billing cycle and receive the difference in monthly balance for the same period. Downgrades and cancellation take effect at the end of the paid cycle, and the current plan continues until then. A plan bought through the App Store or Google Play is charged, renewed, and refunded by that store under its terms, and the balance you receive follows what the store charged. Canceling renewal keeps the current paid period and issued balance until their original expiration; purchased balance and saved work remain available. These rules do not limit any mandatory cancellation or refund rights you have under applicable law.

## If you’re a consumer in the EU or UK

If you buy as a consumer, for purposes outside your trade, business, or profession, and you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from a plan purchase or a balance top-up within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason.

If you withdraw, we refund the part of the purchase you haven’t used. Work you approved and that was done before you told us stays paid for, in proportion to the purchase. Free balance has nothing to refund.

To withdraw, email support@specstream.ai within the 14 days with a clear statement. You can use this model form: “To SpecStream, support@specstream.ai: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following service: \[plan or top-up\], ordered on \[date\]. Name: \[your name\]. Account email: \[your email\]. Date: \[today’s date\].” We refund within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the payment method you used. Purchases through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by that store.

You also have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital services, and every other right consumer law gives you where you live.

## Scheduled and delegated work

Scheduled work uses ordinary quotes with explicit scope, authorization expiry, per-run limits, and calendar-month limits. Agent, project, and account permissions can impose additional limits. Missing funds or permission blocks the run without creating debt. Missed work is not bought later automatically.

Schedules and tools kept in sync need a plan that includes them. Without it they pause, nothing you made is deleted, and they resume when the plan is active again. Canceling a monthly plan does not revoke separately authorized schedules; stop or revoke them if you do not want them to resume.

## Availability and changes

The service depends on internet access and third-party sources and providers. We may change features, perform maintenance, or suspend affected functions to address security, legal, or operational problems. We do not promise uninterrupted access, universal source coverage, or that every request can be fulfilled.

We may restrict or suspend access where necessary to investigate misuse, comply with law, or protect people and the service. Where lawful and practicable, we will explain the restriction and provide a way to contact us. Suspension does not authorize charges for work that fails its agreed completion rule.

## Leaving SpecStream

You can stop using SpecStream, cancel renewal, and request account deletion in Settings. Account deletion revokes access and recurring authority and removes private workspace content. Export anything you need before requesting deletion; it is not a reversible way to pause your account.

Financial, security, and legal records may be kept separately where required or justified, as explained in the privacy policy. Ending an account does not erase valid payment obligations or rights that arose before termination.

## Responsibility and its limits

To the extent permitted by law, the service and third-party information are provided without a promise of fitness for every purpose. SpecStream is not responsible for the independent conduct of source publishers, connected services, or recipients of your exports.

If you use SpecStream for a business, then to the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, and SpecStream’s total liability for all claims relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid SpecStream in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and €100.

These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, to your payment obligations, or to any liability that cannot be limited by law. If you use SpecStream as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights, and SpecStream is liable to you for foreseeable loss caused by its breach of these terms. These terms do not require you to waive a right or remedy that the law does not allow you to waive.

## Claims about your use

If you use SpecStream for a business, you will defend and indemnify SpecStream against third-party claims, and the resulting fines, damages, and reasonable costs, arising from material you submit or import, your use of results in breach of these terms or the law, or messages you send to people found through SpecStream. SpecStream will tell you promptly about such a claim, let you control its defense and settlement (you may not admit fault for SpecStream without its consent), and cooperate reasonably at your expense.

## French law and disputes

French law governs these terms, subject to mandatory protections that apply where you live. Contact support@specstream.ai first so we can try to resolve a concern.

If you use SpecStream for a business, the courts with jurisdiction for SpecStream’s registered office have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim before the courts the law allows, including those where you live. These terms do not impose private arbitration or remove mandatory consumer remedies.

## The rest of the agreement

These terms, any quote you approve, the privacy policy, and the data processing agreement where it applies form the entire agreement between you and SpecStream about the service, and replace earlier discussions about it.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer this agreement without SpecStream’s written consent. SpecStream may transfer it to a company that takes over the service, with notice to you and without reducing your rights.

Neither party is liable for a delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as a natural disaster, war, a widespread internet or power outage, or an act of a public authority, provided it takes reasonable steps to limit the effect. This does not suspend payment for work already completed.

You must comply with export-control and sanctions laws. You may not use SpecStream if you are located in, or ordinarily resident in, a country or territory under comprehensive EU, UK, or US sanctions, or if you are named on, or owned or controlled by someone named on, a sanctions list.

SpecStream sends notices to the email address on your account; send yours to support@specstream.ai. Sections that by their nature continue after the agreement ends, including those on payments owed, responsibility, claims, and disputes, continue.

These terms are available in English and French. For consumers in France, the French version prevails.

## Changes to these terms

We will publish updated terms with their revision date and provide notice of material changes through the service or by email where appropriate. Changes apply prospectively and do not rewrite historical signed quotes or purchases. Where the law requires fresh agreement, we will obtain it before applying the change.
