# Keeping data current

A schedule keeps a list up to date. It repeats saved work on a cadence you choose, inside a scope and budget you set, and sends what's new or changed to where you work. Schedules and their alerts work on every plan, and every run spends from your balance inside the limits you set. Plans differ in how many lists they keep up to date at once: 1 list on Free, 10 lists on Pro, 50 lists on Scale, 250 lists on Team.

## Choose the work.

Start from the saved request and the operation you want to repeat: find more, add details, or refresh. Set the cadence, the timezone, when the permission expires, a maximum per run, and a maximum per period.

A schedule only repeats the exact work you set up. It never rewrites the request into something else.

A list SpecStream found has **Watch for new ones** under its name until it has a schedule. It opens a new schedule that looks for more results every week. Change the cadence and limits before you save it. You pay for the new matches.

## Each run has its own outcome.

Each run is quoted and charged like any other work. If the balance or permission isn’t there, that [occurrence](https://specstream.ai/docs/glossary.md#occurrence) is blocked: nothing runs and nothing is charged. Missed runs are never bought later.

## Choose where new records go.

When a run finds something new or changed, SpecStream can tell you in the workspace and the apps, post it in a Slack channel, send the new records to a [connected tool](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations.md) such as Google Sheets or HubSpot, or call your [webhook](https://specstream.ai/docs/webhooks.md) with `monitor.found`. Only new and changed records are sent; the ones you already have stay where they are.

The Monitoring list shows each monitor’s last run: how it ended, when it ran, and what it charged.

## Read what changed.

Each run labels what it found: new, changed, no longer a match, or not readable this time. A changed value shows its earlier value and the page where the new one was seen. A page that couldn't be read leaves that result as it was.

Values that didn't change keep the date they were first read. Running a schedule doesn’t give old facts new dates.

## Stop the schedule separately from the plan.

Canceling a monthly plan stops its future renewals. It doesn’t cancel a separately authorized schedule. Stop the schedule itself when you want the runs to end.
