# PhantomBuster

Feed PhantomBuster with live web data. SpecStream keeps a Google Sheet filled with the companies and people you want to reach, each value with the page it came from, and your phantoms read the sheet as their input on every launch.

## What you need

- A PhantomBuster account and the phantom you want to run.
- A SpecStream account. New accounts get $10 of work free, with no card.
- A Google account that can edit the spreadsheet.

1. 1

    ## 1. Ask for what the phantom reads

Each phantom works from one kind of input: a LinkedIn profile, a company's LinkedIn page, or a website. Ask for that detail in the request, for example `Founders of B2B software companies in Berlin, with their name and LinkedIn profile`.

2. 2

    ## 2. Send the records to a Google Sheet

In SpecStream, open **Connections**, choose **Google Sheets**, and sign in with Google. Pick the spreadsheet and tab, match each detail to a header in row 1, and give the input a clearly named header such as `LinkedIn`.

Send the records, and tick **Keep sending** so new and changed matches follow. The [Google Sheets guide](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations/google-sheets.md) covers every step.

3. 3

    ## 3. Share the sheet

In Google Sheets, click **Share** and set **General access** to **Anyone with the link**, as a **Viewer**. PhantomBuster reads the sheet without signing in, so a restricted sheet fails with an input error.

Copy the address from the browser bar. It starts with `docs.google.com/spreadsheets`. A Google Drive link doesn't work.

4. 4

    ## 4. Point the phantom at the sheet

In the phantom's setup, paste the sheet's address as its input and enter the header of the column it should read, such as `LinkedIn`. Without a header name, the phantom reads column A.

Set the phantom to launch on a schedule. Each launch reads the sheet as it is, including the rows SpecStream added since the last one.

## Hidden rows

A phantom reads every row in the tab, including rows hidden by a filter. Keep only the rows to process in the tab you share, and send other records to another tab.

## With Zapier, Make, or n8n

To launch a phantom the moment a list finishes, start a Zap with SpecStream's **New Row in a Finished List** and add PhantomBuster's **Launch Phantom**. Make has **Launch a Phantom**, and n8n's built-in PhantomBuster node has **Launch** under **Agent**. The [Zapier guide](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations/zapier.md) covers the SpecStream side.

## From an AI assistant

PhantomBuster runs an MCP server at `https://mcp.phantombuster.com`. Connect it next to SpecStream in an assistant that takes both, ask SpecStream for the data, and ask the assistant to run a phantom on the results. [Connect SpecStream to your assistant](https://specstream.ai/docs/mcp/clients.md).

## Cost

Sending records to Google Sheets costs nothing on SpecStream's side. SpecStream bills your balance for the records that match a request, never above the maximum you approved, and a request that finds nothing is free. PhantomBuster bills for its own plans. [Balance, quotes, and billing](https://specstream.ai/docs/billing.md) has the rates.

## More

[SpecStream for PhantomBuster](https://specstream.ai/integrations/phantombuster.md) covers what it does in PhantomBuster on one page. Every other tool has its guide in [Connect your tools](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations.md). You see the most a request can cost before it starts, and the matches are paid from your balance. [Billing](https://specstream.ai/docs/billing.md) has the details. For help, email [support@specstream.ai](mailto:support@specstream.ai).
