# Gong

Get live web data into Gong through the CRM Gong already reads. SpecStream writes the companies and people your team should be calling to Salesforce or HubSpot, each with the page its details came from, and Gong syncs them as accounts and contacts.

## What you need

-   Gong connected to Salesforce or HubSpot.
-   A SpecStream account. New accounts get $10 of work free, with no card.
-   A Salesforce or HubSpot login that can create accounts and contacts.

    ## 1. Connect your CRM in SpecStream

    Open **Connections** in the workspace, choose Salesforce or HubSpot, and sign in on the CRM's own page. The [Salesforce](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations/salesforce.md) and [HubSpot](https://specstream.ai/docs/integrations/hubspot.md) guides cover the permissions.

    ## 2. Send accounts and contacts

    Send companies as accounts and people as contacts or leads. SpecStream looks for an existing record by domain or email first, so a company you already have is updated, not added twice.

    Map **Why it matches, with sources** to a text field that holds several lines, so the pages behind each record sit on it in the CRM. Tick **Keep sending** so new and changed matches follow.

    ## 3. Find them in Gong

    Gong imports accounts and contacts from the CRM on its own schedule, so the records appear in Gong after its next sync.

    ## 4. Add contacts to an Engage flow

    In Gong Engage, add the new contacts to a flow by hand, or assign them with Gong's API: `POST /v2/flows/prospects/assign` takes up to 200 CRM IDs at a time with the flow's ID and the email of the rep who owns it. The API needs an Engage licence and the `api:flows:write` scope.

## Without Salesforce or HubSpot

Gong's CRM API takes accounts and contacts from any source. Register an integration with `PUT /v2/crm/integrations`, then upload records with `POST /v2/crm/entities`. Read SpecStream records with the [REST API](https://specstream.ai/docs/api.md), or receive them with a [webhook](https://specstream.ai/docs/webhooks.md) when a run finishes or a monitor finds something.

## Cost
